First Aid

First Aid is the care given to a casualty before professional help arrives. It can come from a member of the family, a friend, or a stranger who happens to be on the scene. The help they give can literally mean the difference between life and death.

The aims of first aid are:

  • To preserve life
  • To prevent the worsening of injuries
  • To promote recovery

Any emergency situation requires prompt action, and an untrained first-aider can find themselves at a loss to know what to do. The First Aid course is available in two formats: Emergency First Aid and Standard First Aid. The courses have been designed to help first-aiders in emergency situations by providing treatment solutions for common situations.

Material developed by CPRFASS and recognized by Occupationl Health and Safety, Workers Compensation Board of PEI.

Participants will learn:

  • CPR
    • All componets of CPR (BLS-C)
